Patient Participation Group
Meadowfields patients participation group has been established since the practice opened in 1998 and continues to work in the best interests of the patients having forged a good relationship with both the practice and the Primary Care Trust. Your PPG consists of a group of 7 people who are patients at this practice. The group works voluntarily to provide a two-way communication between patients and staff and also supports the practice by improving the service provided to patients.
Our mission statement is:
- "Listening, learning, improving and caring"
The PPG work closely as a team with the practice staff, to consider the important issues arising between the patients and the practice. We are able to receive any communication and concerns of patients, and convey these to the practice for consideration.
The PPG also raise funds through regular coffee mornings etc for purchasing equipment to improve the facilities and services which the practice provides. e.g.
- audiometer- for hearing tests
- nebulisers,including 2 portables with battery power - for asthmatic conditions
- ultrasonic equipment cleaner - to ensure safe practice for minor operation equipment
- spirometer - for measuring lung function
- Propulse ear irrigation system - for ear syringing
- syringe driver - to deliver drugs continuously
- cryotherapy equipment - for freezing warts etc.
- 24 hour blood pressure machine
Please help us to help you make full use of our new suggestion box which can be found in the reception seating area at Chellaston Surgery. Any input from the patients is greatly appreciated as this will help the PPG and the practice to improve our service.
