Carers

At Meadowfields we offer support and advice to those who are Carers. Carers are people who look after young or old, relative or friend, who as a result of illness, disability or old age are unable to manage alone. Please inform reception if you are a carer, or are being cared for as it is helpful for the Clinician to be aware of a patient's caring role as it could have an effect on their own health. One of our receptionists is specially involved in helping Carers and is always ready to help.

We are able to direct you to the appropriate caring organisations that will then recognise your needs and give support. All our patients are also able to book appointments to discuss their feelings, share their problems or any concerns with the appropriate staff here at Meadowfields.

We have compiled a list of associations where help is available for financial problems, telephone support, home visits, advocacy, support groups and crisis support. We hope this will be of use to those who probably do not know that these groups exist. Help is always available from somewhere, and most of all we try to help you realise that you are not alone.

A folder of self help leaflets is also available at the surgery.
